If we examine the history briefly from the very start of mankind till now, we will notice that humans have been affected by several deadly diseases, plagues, famines, and wars. Some of these only affected a certain amount of area while the others were pandemic and spread to wider areas or countries. We did not have sufficient resources or advanced health facilities at that time and millions of people did die. Unfortunately, some diseases or pandemics can’t still be controlled efficiently, for example, the latest Corona Virus (COVID-19).
The COVID-19 started back at the end of 2019 and the majority of the people suggest that the cause behind it was eating a bat. The outbreak started at the Chinese Province of Wuhan where eating bats, bat soup is common. But no one did know that what was coming and the virus did spread at an alarming rate. Within a passage of 2-3 months, it affected more than eight thousand people in China, sixty thousand people in Italy, thirty-five thousand in the United States and so on as of 23 March 2020.
We could not have even imagined what this virus has done to the world. All the international flights have been canceled, educational institutes closed, sporting events canceled, and the stock markets have crashed worldwide. People in the affected countries are not even allowed to come out due to the outbreak. Panic is created all over the world and people don’t know what to do. But rather than panicking, we should rather stay strong and fight against this disease.
The first step in fighting against the disease is some precautionary measures that everyone must take to get rid of the disease or even stop it from further spreading. Let’s have a look at them.
Â
Nowadays, we are witnessing everywhere that the government and law agencies are enforcing the people in the infected countries to stay away from each other and lock themselves in their homes. Well, they are right, as the main cause of the virus spread is due to human interaction. If we keep at our homes for a few days and don’t interact with the people, at least the virus will be stopped from spreading further.
The majority of the people didn’t take it seriously and have paid the price. Take an example of Italy, where the government gave holidays for quarantine purposes while the people did start enjoying the vacations and keep going out. Now the country is paying the price as they have the highest rate of causalities.
According to the experts, your mouth is the place where the virus gets access to your body. So, covering your face will ensure that no bacteria or virus can enter your body easily even if it is in the air or a nearby person. There are several different types of masks available and should wear it whenever you are going outside.
In addition to this, avoid touching your face and wash your hands as many times as you can daily with proper anti-bacterial soap. This will get rid of the germs or viruses from your hands and will cease its further spread.
While coughing or sneezing, you should not cover your mouth with your hands but using your elbow or a handkerchief would be better. It will stop the further spread of the virus as the hands are touched to multiple things.
The main symptoms of Coronavirus are rough cough, fever, illness, tiredness, nose throat or diarrhea. But if you have any of these symptoms, this doesn’t mean that you will have Corona. So, it's better to visit your doctor urgently.
Doctors suggest that people with existing disease history such as heart problems, cancer, diabetes should practice more caution. The same is the case for elderly people as their chance of being attacked by the virus is high.
For the sake of your family, country, and society, it is our humble request to you, to stay at home as much as you can and play your role as a responsible citizen to get rid of this deadly virus. Hopefully, we will get rid of this very soon and the things will be normalized.
Several different causes lead to the spread of the virus. Let's discuss some of the main reasons:
The contact between people is the main reason behind the rapid spread of corona all over the world. If one person is infected with the virus, then it will probably infect all of the people around it in a very short period. This is the reason that social distancing is encouraged.
Doctors and experts suggest that the virus remains in the air for almost 2 to 3 hours. This is the reason that every single person must wear a mask if he is going outside.
The things or elements touched by an infected person will remain infected as long as 3 days, so we should touch as many fewer things as we could especially the stainless-steel elements.
Â
At the end, I would recommend that you must stay in homes as much as you can and avoid going out. In case of emergency, do take the proper precautions before taking step out of your home. Moreover, if you have any of the above-mentioned symptoms or feeling unwell, do check your doctor immediately. Stay Blessed and Safe…!
